Convert Vixen 2 into xlights 4
« on: October 29, 2015, 10:11:33 PM »
I'm back working on my skeletons and wondeirng if this year with xlights 4 and the import functionality with CCRs if we can do something similar in vixen. Here is my scenario... it is basically a build from this...

http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?22695-Joking-skeletons&p=251292#post251292

I have one channel (#86) in a sequence for one skeleton and in another sequence I have another channel (#87) for the other skeleton. I would like to be able to go into xlights and create a new sequence and just import the tw channels 86 and 87.

Is that possible?

Ok. This looks easier than I thought it would be....just for some reason my 9min MP3 is crashing xlights when I open. It's a constant bit rate MP3 and I see it create the wave form and then crash.

Will try on my Mac and see if it is any different. This crashes on the pc.

Do you get a ZIP file saved for the crash?  The backtrace.txt file inside that zip file sometimes will tell us what function was running when it crashed.

I can bring the MP3 in on the Mac and yes I have a backtrace file. I'll post the MP3 and backtrace in a day or two.  I am able to proceed with some sequencing this afternoon and evening. I think I'm 95% of the way done with the yard/house setup now.

....and thanks again Jim. And Gil and Sean and Dan of course too for xlights.

I'll read up (glance) on the new xlights manual I saw posted on Seans main download page. All I had time so far to do was watch the one tutorial from the beginning of the month.

Here is the debug file.

All I did was load up an MP3 in a new 50ms sequence, nothing else imported at all.
