how to edit audio
« on: November 01, 2015, 07:35:57 AM »
I put together a 14 minute song and I made a small mistake in the song. After I edit the song, how do I put this new song into nutcracker? I'm not changing any of the timing marks. I just forgot a 1 second sound file.

Just edit the original song. I guess i dont understand. U have mix.mp3 you edit it in audacity, change, insert what u want. Save as mix.mp3. As long as timing has not shifted, you just open sequence , no sequence edits needed.

I've edited the song in audacity but now how do I change the media in xlights? I tried this a few minutes ago and had a world of an issue because of my lack of knowledge with lights.

Did you change the name of the media file?

If you did then you would open your sequence in Nutcracker,  go to settings >> sequence settings and change the media file name there.

The downside is that if the new media is longer than the original media Nutcracker does not recalculate and update the media length information in the sequence file.

If the inserted audio is anywhere but the end of the audio track your sequencing will be off by what ever the length of the edited in audio.

I didn't change the length, I forgot to put a small clip about a half second into a spot of silence in audacity.

If you have not changed the name of the media, then just replace the old file with the new one.
