I agree with everyone, I'm glad you setup this forum so we can get xlights/Nutcracker info into one place.

Question for everyone...  If most message traffic DOES occur at this forum, how do we keep xLights and Nutcracker awareness high at the other forums?  Lots of messages at your favorite site helps to draw people into the discussion.

there is a problem with one site is all you need.

does everyone who have LOR only post and get support from the LOR site?
LSP users only go to the LSP site?

I will continue to read the other  forums and respond to questions, but this will be my primary hangout.
Do people even know about the other forums?
DIYC = HLS, Vixen, Renard
DIYC.org = Vixen+, Renard
ACL = LSP
DLA = DLA equipment

now there are LOR, Vixen people on all of those but it is my observation that the majority of posts follow the above. Probably as this year goes on I will spend time here and on www.falconchristmas.com. Thisis because i am extrensively using the falcon equipment and pi player. Is the falcon equipment better than san devices, j1sys? No!

Do I know the developer of falconchristmas and he lives 45 minutes away, Yes!

I will treat this forum as an evolution. i think by summer people will know this is the place to come to get the latest information on xlights and nutcracker.

This makes perfect sense!  Hopefully this will minimize some of the duplicity across all the forums - eventually.  Like any "new" product, it will take some time for it to catch on.  I can't imagine trying to follow 19 forums on a daily basis!

If Sean continued to post the headings for his announcements in all the forums, but in the body of each did a stock " For more information" link to the content at this site, it might draw more people here. At the very least it might increase the centralized discussion and make this site the main Nutcracker information depository.

Sean, I think that we all agree that you and your team should spend your time improving Nutcracker and having lives rather than posting the same information on 19 sites. Thanks again for a great product. :)

Sean or any other admin.

Just a suggestion but I would put a confirmation tool on this site to check people who register.  This site is still new and free of spammers and other crap but it will not remain so for long.

Just a thought  ;D

no stupid questions. ask anything, we are friendly.

3 admins for this forum
2010 .. matt brown wrote xlights as a scheduler
2011 ..
2013 .. sean wrote web based nutcracker to create rgb effects
2013 .. matt ported nutcracker from the web and added it as a tab inside of xlights, now 50x faster
            dave pitts created pi player, falcon-16, Falcon-8, fpd, pixelnet=>5 dmx converter,
            new firmware for Smart String Controllers, atx power board
2014 .. ??

all the admins believe in open sourcing everything we do. That means any of us could disappear but our products would continue.
