Exporting models
« on: June 10, 2014, 08:00:34 PM »
Hi all,

I have an issue that I would appreciate some help in understanding.  It concerns exporting a model and getting the .hlsnc file and going into HLS and dropping it onto some channels.

If the .hlsnc file is around the 2 minute in length it works fine in the HLS preview.....but if my time gets out much longer than that I get a garbage in the HLS preview....  It's like the efffects are there but covered in white dots....everywhere.

I found a way to get around that but I have to cut the song into 2 minute chunks and end up with several .hlsnc files.  I then drop them into HLS one after the other and it plays fine.

While that works every time it takes a lot more keystrokes to go through all those gyrations of chopping songs into useable chunks....and then ending up with multiple model exports....very tedious....

I can never quite predict how long I can go without cutting a song up as it is right now.....so I end up trying the whole song first....then if that won't export and play I resort to my workaround....

Is there some sort of buffer size limit here?

Thanks....

I dint thimk we g ave a limit. If you look at one line in the hlsnc file, it should have as many values as the leng th of the song. 20fps and a ten second song means 200 values. 2 mins is 2400 values per line. Maybe some hls users have seen this issue

Thanks for the response Sean....

I tried opening the .hlsnc file to look at line 1..... I can't make head nor tails of it....just a string of numbers...which I can't figure out....

That being said....if there isn't a time limit.....how about a data limit?  Sort of like you can only put just so much in a 5 pound bag....once that amount is reached.... 'boingo' it loses it's mind... LOL

In such a case it would seem that the more effects you put in the sooner the limit is reached....which would account for me not being able to find a specific time limit...

I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if that's possible.....just throwing stuff against the wall to see if there is something causing this to occur....

BTW....do you have a gig on the 4th?  A prime time for patriotic music fests and such...!

Just a followup as I still don't know if this is an issue of something I'm doing or it's an internal to NC thingy...

I'm still having to parse (cut in half) my sequences of anything over 2 minutes....( and I'm not convinced it's a time issue....maybe amount of data comes to mind)

Is there anything I can do on my end to change that?  It increases the time to sequence considerably as I have to first go to Audacity and chop up the tune and then for every song I end up with multiple .hlsnc files to deal with....

Sorry to be a pest but this is a pain to say the least....
