LOR conversion issues
« on: November 18, 2015, 07:19:59 AM »
Despite many hours of trouble shooting I am not able to have my LOR sequences play as sequenced after import to Xlights.

RGB sequences imported from LOR play fine
Sequences for my 8 minitrees which run from a LOR controller do not play as sequenced.

I have tried different ways of numbering them but still that is of no help. I have 48 channels on LOR and 24 of them are mapped for the 8 minitrees - 3 strands per minitree,

Any help from the experts here. I am running out of time and worried,

Thanks much

Can you run one of the LMS files through the Convert tab converting LMS to FSEQ and check the Verbose channel mapping box?  Then you will get a listing of exactly how your channels are being mapped into the xLights channels and you can double check all your start channels.  Sometimes you will find things aren't mapping like you thought because of empty channels or channels with no networks.  Changing those options at import will have an effect on where things get mapped.  Whatever mapping you see in that conversion is the same mapping you should get when you do an Import Effects if you choose the same options.

You need to do the above exercise first.  If the channels don't map to the models correctly then nothing will show up.

I did the exercise -

I have three LOR controllers - LOR 1 - mapped 1 to 16 in Xlights, LOR 2 - mapped 17 to 32 in Xlights and LOR 3 mapped 33 to 48 in xlights.

Upon conversion I am not able to see channels 17 to 48 in verbose channel mapping, however the odd thing is that when i play the sequence in Layout tab of XL, the minitree do light us but not in perfect sync.

Dont know how to debug. Help appreciated.

How many channels do you have setup for your first output in the xLights Setup tab?
You can copy that verbose output, paste it in a text file, and attach it here so we can see what happened.

Find attached.

Have to mention that LOR controller 1 has 8 empty channels. not sure if that is messing up things.

Minitrees are on controller no.2 and 3.

Thank you

Gil,

I got frustrated and am reconfiguring the set up so that there are no empty LOR channels. Did not save the verbose dump taken earlier. Will let you know if I still run into problems.

Thanks again, Ranjan

Ranjan,

No empty channels should help. Last year I had 3 controllers with a total of 32 channels. Used 3 for convenience.

Was having issues getting the sequence to look the way it should.

Went back into LOR and made two controllers with 32 consecutive channels and my problems went away.

Mapping was straight forward.

Good luck, Ed
