I posted how to do that today on this forum.  But first tell us more about the history of the sequence because I can't think of any scenario where changing the sequence timing will help.  The sequence timing only establishes where the edges of the effects can be placed.  Once placed changing the sequence timing doesn't move anything it just makes the saved file size double.  Are you working with imported data that you believe is 20ms?

Thank you for the response.. I have created from scratch all of my sequences..  Honestly I dont know what is causing my lights to be behind  the music.. I was reaching with the 50ms..

I am using Full SMArt RGB and simple design of two story house. I am a newbie so my lights are pretty simple.

I am using windows 10 wireless and my light are controlled by the smart controller from HolidayCoro wired to a 100mb switch.

Do i need to connect my computer over ethernet?

Yeah if you created everything in xLights I don't think changing the sequence timing is going to help.  That will just pump more data out faster and if there is lag in the network it would get worse.  How many channels are you driving?  It could be so many things it's hard to say but I feel like it's gotta be something to do with the network. Do you have any controllers defined as unicast that aren't hooked up cause that can cause it?  Any other computers you can try?  If you can try a hard wired ethernet I would give that a go.  I would work towards using a Raspberry Pi setup running the free FPP code.  You can run it hard wired to your show and communicate to the FPP over wireless to control the show if needed.

Where did your mp3 come from?   If directly from Amazon or iTunes, use Audacity or something to re-encode it as CBR.   That definitely has an impact on the keeping things in sync.

While you are at it....mp3gain is a nice little software to help normalize the volume for all your MP3s. I run my mp3s through that after doing the CBR save.

Can you run this after creating all your sequences ?

ie could I run it over all the mp3 files that I have used and use the new versions (renamed to be same name as old)  without having to touch the fseqs ?

If I had uploaded 10 mp3s (which I did) and tied to sequences, then realized none of the songs were consistent volume wise I would run the app and adjust all the mp3s on my laptop. Then i'd delete those original mp3s on the pi and then upload them all again from the laptop and keep the names the same. no need to recreate playlists or anything. This is assuming you aren't running a show while doing this because i'd suggest a different approach if that was the case to minimize impact on the audience.

What do you use as your target "Normal" volume?
