Import effects from LMS file
« on: November 20, 2015, 01:44:53 PM »
I have been trying to import LOR effects from my old LMS files watching the how to videos but the effects are not matching what is in the LMS file.
I created a mapping and saved it and every thing looks right in the mapping.
My question is when the import actiually happens is xlights using the channels numbers from my LMS file or just using the channel labels I told it to use in my mapping file.
sorry for the bad pictures but could not do a screen capture and post from the other computer.
You can see in image1  4 red on in a chase and fade then all on in xlights you can see a chase then all on but should have only been 4 in the chase and xlights showing 6 and double on/fades in the chase then all on.
Not sure what I am doing wrong.
the second picture shows the mapping to the lor channels and xlights.
Hope this all made sense.

Your channel setup in Xlights has to be exactly as you have it in your lms file or visa versa in order fthe import to work correctly

Thanks Don, That was what I was afraid of. Was hoping to get out of a bunch of work.  Thought since you tell it which channel it mached to in the LMS file it would use that channel and info.

Actually I thought that was the point of using the mapping file.  The channels need to line up for a data layer import or a conversion but for Import Effects the mapping file should be able to switch things around however you tell it.  I haven't really gotten to use that feature but might need to soon cause I have a couple songs I'd like to move over into xLights.
