Question for Gil...
« on: November 22, 2015, 05:34:56 PM »
Gil, I'm mapping some of my strands nodes now.

I tried to edit them in Notepad ++ to try and save hours of work. Didn't work. Only recognizes the nodes I mapped in Xlights.

The biggest PIA, when you select a strand node, after selection, it will reset to the very beginning of the list again.  Is there anyway on the mapping code, that the list could stay were you selected the previous node; instead of resetting back to the beginning.  Would that be too difficult to program. At least it would take some of the sting out of mapping nodes.

Or do you by chance have a technique using Notepad ++ that you could manually edit the mapping file.

Thanks for any info and or help.

Best,
David

I didn't write the mapping import code so I'm not familiar with how any of that dialog is coded.

Thanks Gil. Appreciate the response non the less.

Just remembering the location you were selecting previously, would help a lot.

Best,
David

Just an FYI:  on the Mac it DOES remember the last selection.   That's something specific to the platform editor I think.

Thank You Dan. Earlier I could get the map by strand to work. For some reason, it started working fine.

I was able to import everything easily via that method.

Thank You and the Devs for your hard work.  A Happy Thanksgiving to ALL

Best,
David
