It means you didn't tell us enough about what you're doing.  What dialog are you talking about?  The title says "Importing models" but we don't have a model import so what are you doing.

When importing effects for a Model from a different program, I have completed the import mapping and have tested and used in a different sequence.  Now when importing takes along time around 10 minutes and comes up with the error as described above cancelling any further import of effects.  Hope this makes more sense...

Also wondering why it takes quite sometime to open a sequence that doesn't have a lot in it like 320 seconds and when I try to import it takes a minute of "not responding " before the mapping channels window pops up to import the effects

I'm headed out of town.  If you want help from the others around here you need to provide more info.  You didn't even say what type of file or program you're bringing the data from.

As I stated I am importing effects from a different program which should not make a difference but it is LSP the error I get is File Dialog failed error code 2.  I have used the import feature before and it worked well.  Does any one have this issue.....I could really use some help.

Hello Zane ,

It could be the size of what you are trying to import as the LPS files are quite big (the way stuff is stored).

Why not import as a data layer . Much more efficient and takes much less time.
(All my last year's LSP ones were imported that way - I did try Import effects as well , but abandoned that)

Data layer imports are via the Settings menu (and described in the manual)
Make sure u click on render all , after the Import , before playing it.

Gerry, I am importing via data layer by creating a import model sheet that states import from this node in LSP is this node in Xlights.  In fact I am only import 30 nodes/pixels at a time and the error occurs.  The import function had work on a different sequence and on two other imports of 50 pixels from the same LSP file with no problem.  So I was just looking for help
