first five pixels wont light
« on: November 27, 2015, 11:21:10 AM »
So I have a 16 strand mega tree that some of the pixels won't light. The first five on the first seven strands and then a whole string on eight, nine is lit but ten and eleven out 12 is lit  but 13,14,15 are out 16 is lit but lit strands the first five are out. I used the test function on the alphapix and they all lit up. I am using the sequencer play function to run the sequence of just on to get the colors right. What am I not understanding? Did I miss something in the model specifications? why won't this work correctly?

thank you for your time
scott

OK heres an update I updated the firmware on controllers to 1.04. That made the unlit strands light up. So it's just now the first five pixels on each strand that won't light and also when I use blue color then it's 6 pixels that won't light. I tried it with a 25 fps speed nd with out my anti virus software on still the five won't light. Also I can light the five up now in test part of xlights just not when I run a sequence.

I just went through something similar last naight but with single a strand not working in a sequence but worked in test mode.  While in a sequence where the strand did not work, I selected import effects and just went through the motions of reimporting my models, almost like a refresh.  Literally took a couple minutes with selecting the mapping and hitting okay.  Everything works fine now.

I am not familiar with the reimporting you are talking about. I tried what clicking import at the top of the tool bar then clicked import effects then picked the sequence xml file then added models for mapping then clicked load mapping and picked the sequence fseq it then seeemed to do nothing and I clicked ok I got the "pc is working" ring and then I saved the sequence tried it and it did not work. IS this what you did?

Thanks for the reply

If the order above is what you did then you wiped out your selections.  "load mapping" is for using a previously saved map.  Once you added models and selected the models you want to import, you can save that map for reuse later without going thru that selection process.  If you do a selection and then load map you effectively wipe out whatever you selected with whatever you had in the map.

From what I remember with my situation was I had imported from LOR, so my sequences for single strand were already done.  While on the page on a given sequence, I reimported the same sequence so I could get to the mapping portion which then refreshed my models.  I hope am not confusing you.
