Unable to load iseq error
« on: December 04, 2015, 11:18:19 AM »
I copied my sequence files from my sequencing PC to the PC I will use for this year's display.   When I render or save, I get an error message "unable to load sequence....<filename/path>.iseq>".   When I go to settings and re-import the LOR file, I still get the error message but the sequence works correctly on all elements.    Is there anything I need to worry about here or anything I should do differently???    I verified the iseq files xlights is looking for are in the folders where it is looking, so I am scratching my head here....
I searched the forum and didn't find anything on this topic.   Thanks very much.

The filename / path for iseq files is hardcoded in the xml.  When you move files between computer the paths often change.  Get out your notepad++, open the sequence xml and find the line with the iseq in it and edit the path to reflect the computer you are now on.  I've had to do that many times.

Thanks Jim.  I'll do that tomorrow.   I appreciate the info!

Probably would have worked better to delete the data layer and then import it again.  We need to come up with a solution for the path issues next year.

Deleting and re-importing works ok if you have the original LOR, but I am working with shared sequences and do not have the original LOR file, plus since I'm not a LOR user I have no interest in learning how to import LOR stuff.  Especially for one sequence.

I knew you were not talking to me, but a lot of folks read threads looking for answers and I was just trying to add more info, because newbies do not understand all the issues we discuss and many of us have a tendency to be very short and direct with answers to save time.  At least I sometimes do.
