icicle model
« on: June 30, 2014, 07:41:48 PM »
I purchased some of the new ws2811 icicles from diyledexpress. Does anyone have a model I can use for  Nutcracker? Thanks in advance.

how do they connect. for example if they have a input cable and say 10 nodes per icicle and a wire runs back to the top and there is another cable connector. Make a
vertical matrix. If i had 20 icicles, each with 10 pixels

model: vert matrix
# strings? 20
number rgb nodes per string? 10
starting corner? Top left

Sean,
Thanks for  the   reply. My issue is that the icicles are in a  group of  3 and  each  are of  different lengths and  pixel numbers. I have 5 sets I planned of  stringing  together.

Use a custom model, here is an example of different lengths

meteros, even text will work with this.

if you will have 20 icicles (varying length), with the longest being 10 nodes.
then build a grid for custom model by
model width? 20
model height? 10

start in upper left corner and number the nodes, consecutive
