Best megatree framerate setup for E682?
« on: December 05, 2015, 01:12:23 PM »
Hi, my first megatree have total 900 pixels 6x5 meter. (5 volt)
My question is, how should I setup it up in the best way, outputs and settings.

Is there any difference to drive all 900 pixels from one output. Ex. 4-1 or is better to split and use 4-1 for the first 3 stripes and 4-2 to the rest 3?
Or should I have one stripe to each output.
Ex.
3-1 Stripe1
3-2 Stripe2
3-3 Stripe3
3-4 Stripe4
4-1 Stripe5
4-2 Stripe6

Thanks in advance.

Here is what I end up with. Added 2 more 5 meter strings so a total of 16 bars.

I don't know that there is a "stock" answer to this one.   You will need to remain within the capability of the E682 controller--it is good for 7 universes running in multicast and 12 universes in unicast.   There might be limitations on how many pixels each of the outputs (e.g., 1-1, 1-2 etc etc) can drive, but I didn't see anything about that in the Sandevices manual--it would make sense that each output would be limited in the number of pixels it can drive, since there are limits on the total number of universes the controller can drive.  This might be a good question for Jim St. John.  I believe he monitors doityourselfchristmas pretty regularly.   I hope this helps.

your set up has not much to do on data end of the lights. its the power you need to worry about. the longer the strands the weaker the brightness of the last led gets.  On mine I have the power fed to both ends of the strips. and data only at the leading edge. With only 3570 channels just spread out your feeds. Im using every single channel but banks used according to pixel  equal amounts.    like bank 4 with outputs of 100 pixels each used. It can be 1 or all 4 used.
