Cool.  You put the wrong link under Light of Christmas but I found it on your channel.  I'm short on songs so I just copied it over to my display and tested it outside.  It looks pretty awesome on my display.  Thanks.

Gil, what's the easiest way to copy over a sequence, since the model names, etc., are different.

Gil, what's the easiest way to copy over a sequence, since the model names, etc., are different.

I create user directories for the setup files I get from each user so I just created a debenham user directory and made that my show directory.  Opened up his sequence and selected all the effects.  Then I switched to my show directory and created a sequence, selected my Everything view, and pasted all the effects in.  They weren't on the rows I wanted so I used the brand new Copy Model/Paste Model feature to copy the effects over to the model rows where I wanted them.  It took me longer to figure out how to buy the song on iTunes than it did to create the sequence and have it playing in the yard.

Which reminds me iTunes has gone so far downhill if you ask me.  I could not get it to buy a song so I had my wife buy it.  Then it wouldn't let me download the song and told me I was up to date.  It was saying my computer was not authorized I assume because I've upgraded to Windows 10.  Then I tried to authorize and got an error about resource not found.  So I finally had to go online and deauthorize all my pc's and then close/reopen the program and reauthorize my pc which then told me I was already authorized.

Moral of the story....even the mighty Apple with iTunes has quirks similar to the steps we have to tell you guys to do sometimes.

I actually picked up a couple new tricks using that sequence.  I had never really seen any settings in the Ripple effect that looked that nice so I've always avoided using it.  Chris had some nice Ripple effects happening in that sequence that made it look like multi-colored morphs bouncing up and down.

I see the copy model but not sure how to paste model. Can anyone explain just a bit further?  Thanks.

You're probably on the wrong page.  We aren't copying a model on the Layout tab.  We are copying a row of effects on the sequencer page and pasting a row of effects.  I knew I should have named them Copy Row and Paste Row.

What version of light of Christmas was used? The one I see is 3:44 which is shorter than the one linked, it's over 4 minutes.

I used the 3:44 version.  In the sequence his effects extend past the end of the music but that part doesn't output to the sequence.  I think I cut it to 3:42 cause I don't like 4 to 5 seconds of darkness.   People start to think its over.

Ok, I must have done something wrong because the effects don't line up with the music. Thanks Gil for the response.

Well I did make some adjustments.  I used Audacity to make the song constant bit rate.  Then I didn't copy his timings I used the plugins to create my own Beats timings and then I adjusted the effects to land on the edges of the beats.

"I knew I should have named them Copy Row and Paste Row."

Yes, just noticed it only copies one row/layer, not the entire model and all layers.

All our copy logic is really based on visible rows and has no association with what model might be listed to the left otherwise we would have a big mess having to worry about how many layers each model has.
