How to Do a Ramp Up on all RGB?
« on: December 10, 2015, 09:00:35 PM »
I am trying to do a "Smooth" ramp up on all of my RGB channels and would like them to be an RGB Twinkle type effect. What is the best way to accomplish this? To add to this after the ramp up I want to start the next ramp up to start at the previous ramps end intensity. Make sense?

Thanks,
Roger

If you just wanted a ramp then use the On effect.  Change the cycle count to 1.0 and then start and end intensity slider will create your ramp.  If you wanted it to Twinkle then use the Twinkle effect and you can use Fade Up and Fade Down times but it's going to fade up to 100% and down to 0%.  There's also a brightness slider to affect each effect.  You can multiple layers with blending and masking to create a lot of different looks. Lots of options.

Thanks Gil! The 1 is what I was missing on the single color. I am looking for a very specific effect not a general one. I want the Twinkle to say start at 0% and ramp up to say 30% and stay at 30 for say 2 seconds, then go from the 30% to 60% for a set time then Increase from 60 to 100% and be able to reverse back down to 0. I can now accomplish this with single color, Thank You, but is there a way to do this with twinkle or any other effects? What I see with the other effects is that they always start at 0. Am I making any sense!

Thanks for the help!
Roger

Yes I'm sure it can be done using two layers and masking but I don't have time to play with it to figure it out.  I was trying to point you in the right direction to experiment.  Create a normal twinkle and then use On effects on top of it to create the ramping you want and experiment with the mask and unmask blending modes.  When doing some of the masks it's best to use a White color.

Thank you Gil. I have been experimenting.... AND really do appreciate the help. I was not expecting you to figure it out, just though maybe there was an easier way than I was trying. I will figure it out one way or another!

Thanks again,
Roger
