Is there a "lighter" tablet version of xLights?
« on: December 11, 2015, 12:06:52 PM »
Hi guys,

Any plans for a smaller tablet version just for creating sequences?
Thinking: setup, test, layout, sequencer.

Test would be great for my iPhone/iPad to be able to stand outside and check each channel.
To create or modify sequences on my iPad would be great when I am not near my computer.

Just a thought
Thanks

Rick R.

i dont think this is needed. first, it would be lots of work to cut it up. the sequencer would not run on a tablet.
You already have ability now.
I downloaded the free TeamViewer 10 app for my ipad. I start teamviewer on my desktop. I am in the from yard, i turn on tests, start and stop patterns. i am able to control my sequencer from anywhere in my yard. i can also do the same from my phone.

splashtop is another app that allows same functionality.

And if you are running on the FPP program on the PI you can connect to that via a web browser if you get wifi in your yard.  I put a wifi router next to a front window to run my show connections just so I can use my phone and tablet in the yard.  Works great.

You can always get a Surface Pro 4 :) That's what I use to run xlights.
