Text and morph
« on: July 17, 2014, 04:44:35 PM »
Hi all,

I posted this over on the DIY site and didn't get any responses and thought I'd repost here in an attempt to get it in front of more HLS users.....but looking at the list of posts....it seems I'm the primary 'hang-er-outer" here.....LOL.....  maybe Sean should rename this the Santacarl HLS question tab....  ;D

I keep running into an issue with using text and morph anywhere in a sequence. I generally run a text of the tune name across the MT at the beginning of every song.....BUT if there is an instance ANYWHERE in subsequent effects where morph is used my text takes on the properties of the morph from that other effect..... The only way I can use text is to NOT use morph.

Now...here's the kicker. When I view the sequence in XL/NC it plays perfectly but when I export it to an .HLSNC file and drop it into an HLS sequence the problem I described above occurs. If I go back into XL/NC and 'untick' the morph box...the text works fine.....

Update.....

Just in case anyone is interested I went back and opened the HLS sequence to take a look and see if anything obvious was visible.  What I found was interesting.....

The effects are, indeed, being placed in the individual cells within the HLS sequence only instead of the color of the text in XL, in this case red and green, showing up in the individual cells in my HLS sequence there was this dark, dark, dark (almost black) green (as close as I can come to a recognizable color) filling of the cell......and if you go back and play the sequence in HLS you can see...if you look very closely that the text is running......but it's so dark it blends almost completely in to the background.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a way to 'fix' this that I'm missing?

UPDATE 2:  Well.....now it works!.....  I upgraded to HLS version 20B and went back and tried this again and it now works perfectly....Not sure if I just had a corrupted file in my HLS or if the computer itself did a hiccough....  Anyhow....sorry for the loss of grey matter for anyone thinking about why this happened the post might have caused....
