Circles
« on: February 04, 2016, 10:01:49 AM »
Just was wondering if there is an easy way to program circles in xlights that are in a row like LOR does where you see the circle in the morph. currently it showes up as a line and you cant split the morph in two. The video in the link shows what I'm trying to do. Am missing something?

First, you need to learn how to post a link. You can't just copy and paste, you have to specify a link, then paste.

Have you tried using a circle model? You could also use two arches opposing each other.

I can promise you xlights can do everything that you see in the video.

Spend time learning xlights and feel free to post questions along the way.

There is nothing in that video you can't do in xLights.  Create 4 Circle models.  If you want a morph to only roll across the top of a circle then you just need to set the proper endpoint the same way you would in SuperStar.  The only difference with how this was modeled in SuperStar is he treated the 4 circles as a 4x50 matrix.  You could also do the same thing in xLights if you wanted and I'm sure could probably purchase his sequence and import it right into our program but it's such a simple sequence I wouldn't buy it.  I was a SuperStar user and I created the same effects in xLights so believe me I didn't leave anything out.  The only thing I would say you can do in SuperStar that we don't have yet is the auto-sequencing function.  We do have the ability to create random effects but its not as nice as the options in SuperStar.

By the way you should learn how to use the Effect Assist window in xlights to aid with positioning the morph endpoints.  See this video for an example of how to use it:

First off sorry that i did not post the link correctly it was my first post to this forum and i am still learning it. Also if i came across that LOR was better or worse that is not what i intended for either, I find LOR very confusing and could not figure it out. I find it very easy to use xlights you can tell it was made by people with commonsense and just want things to work as they should. I have only programmed a few songs to my mega tree and used the morph function alot. That is why i was trying to use the morph to do the circles i will just have to play around with them more to get the start and finish how i would like. Thanks again for the info.

No apologies needed.

I didn't take your post as lor is better. Plus, even if you did, we know it's not. ;D
