Effects preset
« on: March 14, 2016, 08:20:20 PM »
Ok working on my Bruno.  I trying to create some presets I did the eyes and mouth with no problem But its the body I'm having an issue with. I have 40 nodes with a few different colors. the issue is I can not select all 40 nodes at once to save as a preset. not all 40 nodes are all on the screen at one time. 34 is all that shows. I have tried left click/shift, grab and drag while scrolling. cant zoom out in height. so what am I missing, windows 10

I don't think you're doing anything wrong.  With the current design I think my selection code can only select items that are on rows that are visible.  So you can select items with shift select that are off screen to the right or left because those rows are visible but if you scroll down then it only selects the effects on the visible rows and none that scroll off the top.  There is already an issue submitted for this so I'll have to see if there's something I can do when I get a chance to look into this.

Ok as I was pulling my hair out, I can break down my Bruno into smaller models, I'll break out the nose and ears of the main body. 34 nodes looks like the magic number Thanks for the quick response. Bruno will be happy he is moving along LOL

I saw you post in the thread on auschristmaslighting forum so you probably saw the post where Dan suggested using multiple face definitions to create these type of effects.  Then you could just select the phoneme to create any of the faces you are trying to do.

Yes I did. Did not quite understand it all.  I looked at singing faces. Also looked at custom models where it says faces.  I see how that would work on a wire frame face but it does not let me fill in with face color on different expressions.  With the preset effects for the eyes I have center, right, left, wink, and close ( may add cross eyed). That's just for the eyes. Wait until I do the mouth .  After that double it up for the second character so the two can narrate my show.  I few jokes, introduce the songs.  I was just playing the other night as I want to finishing making all my props before I get into the real nuts and bolts of the sequencing.  Laying it out on paper and actually building them, things change.  I will say when I started last summer and looked at all the different software I know I made the best choice with Xlights/NC......
