AC Tree Model Problem
« on: April 01, 2016, 07:51:41 PM »
Not sure if this is a bug or user error.  I am trying to make a a model for a tree that I use in my display.  The tree uses a total of 8 AC strings - 2 set of 4 colors.  Each string goes up from the bottom to the top of the tree and then down the opposite side to make a 360° tree.  I have this laid out in the attached PDF on page 1.

The first thing that I noticed if that if I use the "default" render style, the trees light up as expected (page 2).  If I changed to the "Single Line" render style, only 1/2 of the tree lights up (pages 3 and 5).  I am not exactly sure what the different render styles are, so this might just be my lack of understanding rather than a bug, but I figured I would report it just in case.

I also noticed that I can't turn on lights at the strand level (page 4).  Nothing turns on no matter which render style  I choose.  I've tried saving, rendering, closing and reopening, and nothing seems to allow me to turn on just 1 strand.  Again, not sure if this is a bug or me missing something.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Jon

I know nothing about ac lights, but why are you overlapping channels on the 4 models?

That is carryover from when I used to use all AC lights and Vixen 2.  To keep track of the lights I would put them in order on outputs 1, 2, 3, 4 and then repeat (I have 4 of these trees).

I didn't think about the overlap of the channels.  I do have them as individual start channels, so I didn't think that would matter, but perhaps it does.  I'll have to switch that around and see what happens.
