Confused How to Configure Faces Node Layout Custom Model
« on: April 13, 2016, 11:13:19 AM »
I have attached the excel file with my custom layout for my Singing Pumpkin. I used this in xLights and assigned these numbers in Face Definition as Single Nodes. Should they be Node Ranges since I will be using 264 pixels. With 12v power via F16V2 I will need 2-3 ports or maybe get away with two 132 strings. The question is what order to the pixels go into the coro board? I know I am doing something wrong here.

Should it be Node Ranges and number the element 1-76 for outline, 77-112 for eyes, etc...?

Yes if you are using smart pixels you will have to number up like you said number the element 1-76 for outline, 77-112 for eyes, etc... The image you show would be for dumb pixels or AC lights.

Another question:  I have grouped the outline and eyes which equals 112 nodes. I will run them off on one output.  For the second output will it understand the upper lip starts with node number 113? I can't start over with Node 1, right?

xLights doesn't need to know how the nodes will be split across the ports.  Just create the model as if it's one big port.

I'm on it. I just tested the outline and eyes only and it works so far. I want to be an expert before I get to class, Gil.  ;D Thanks for helping.

Okay! I've finished the custom layout and tested it in xLights. It all works!!!! Now, I will take another stab at Papagayo. I tried last night and it was a disaster. Before I mess with it again there will be a definite F10.

Cheers!

Papagayo is there for legacy support of existing sequences with papagayo.  You should be using the faces effect instead.  We'll have a singing faces tutorial soon.

That is good to know. Is there a method to automating the syncing using Faces? I thought I remembered something about Audacity and a timing track.

Thanks Gil. I was able to figure this out and used the video to verify. The video did fill in some gaps. This is going to be a lot of work for sure.

Some of it depends on how picky you are.  I usually only adjust the word position I don't bother with trying to move the phoneme's.  Just let the words auto-gen the phoneme's.  It won't be perfect but nobody watching the show cares but you.
