Channel Numbering
« on: April 17, 2016, 08:59:33 AM »
Okay....so I simply went through and laid out my entire house on the layout tab.  Now I'm attempting to go back and assign starting channels to each element and it keeps crashing whenever I attempt to change the "MegaTreeR:1" to an absolute number.  What in the world am I missing?  I don't even get a crash report...just comes up saying Not Responding and I have to force close.  Anyone had this before? Ways to overcome?

Thanks....

A way around this is to directly edit the rgb_effects.xml file in Notepad++ - yes I noticed this same thing yesterday while in the xLights seminar and just went to direct editing the file.  Remember this is Beta software so sometimes there are undocumented features :-)

Easy now...    I see (at least on his forum signature...) he is a newbie.  He may not have seen the files you need to see!!

Newbie on here...not so new to the scene...I just assumed I was doing something wrong because I didn't see anyone else with the issue.  I edited it all in notepad and I'm good to go now.  Thanks guys!

Duane, if you use Notepad++, it is MUCH easier to edit the XML files. (and safer)
