Sean, if it is possible, when you are adding some more info to some of the webinar topics. Would you consider expounding on single strand effects and their uses.

I feel this is a powerful effect to use, that IMHO needed more than 5min from yesterday.  Your last in depth is over a year ago.

Learning so much from the Webinar. Lilia was highly entertaining, and very informative. Lot's of ideas to consider in my sequencing.

sure david, ill do a session on just single strand. Maybe i will get Lilia to show it. I was surprised how many places she uses it (including on our megatree!).

Sean, I know the list could go on and on but I would like to see if you can maybe describe the correct way to size pictures on a matrix or a tree to make it look the best.  Maybe the correct answer is just trial and error.

If you hit the scale to fit checkbox in the Picture effect that's as good as it's gonna look.  If it doesn't look good then you need more pixels to get a better resolution display element.  One trick I do to make it slightly better is to have the picture scroll across the tree.  Then you haven't smooshed it quite as much.  So I take the photo and resize it to the height of my tree in Photoshop or your favorite editor.  Then apply it in the Picture effect with a Left movement.

Gil, Thanks for the response.  So if I re-size the picture in PS and my tree is 50 pixel nodes high.  Would  I re-size the picture 50 pixels high or just make it a multiple of 50.

I'd resize it in Photoshop to 50 high because Photoshop can probably resample with a better algorithm than what we have built into the program.

different advice, take it for what its worth... 

I try to place my pictures in the "sweet spot" of my tree... with 85 pixel strings, I use software to create 64 pixel-high images.  that leaves about 10 rows above and about 10 below blank.  At the top of the the the strings are close together... at the bottom the strings are farther apart.  by going for the middle I think there is less distortion.  I do not scale the picture in XL.

I do both autoscale and resize in mspaint. My mtree is 16x50, i will resize to 30x70. I do this if image has blank space around the image
