AutoGenerate Ignoring the Lock Buttons

Sean, Is the Autogenerate supposed to ignore the lock buttons? I have the 3.4.9 version and I was using the autogenerate on one model and had locked it to one type of effect on effect 1 only with effect 2 set to None and locked. But it keeps changing effects on effect 2. I tried locking some colors also and they keep changing also. So is the autogenerate supposed to work like this? Thanks for all you do.

Ok, I'm able to lock the effect but not able to lock the colors that I want. It keeps changing from Palette to rainbow and the colors change. I have locked the colors but it's still changing.
