New model problems
« on: April 27, 2016, 09:22:05 AM »
Added 4 floods to my setup.  They show up on the Setup screen. When I use Test the floods come on at the proper address.   I go to Sequence and  I added the flood to a routine.  The floods show in the Model Preview and react to an effect.  On the House Preview the floods do not show and when I add an effect to a flood the majority of the display starts blinking.
I suspect my RGB_effects file may have problems, but I am not knowledgeable enough to find it.

How many times a week do we have to tell you guys don't filter your model groups.  You checked every model group box which means "ONLY SHOW ME THE MODELS IN THE GROUPS I"VE CHECKED".  And then you added new models that don't belong to any of the groups you are filtering.  Uncheck all the group boxes.

Yeah, I think this is going to be an ongoing issue unless we can figure out a way to warn people when they first check a group.  Very easy for new users and also experienced users to forget they checked something.  Maybe make it so it is not as easy to get to the group selection.  It is right there in the open so people think they need to use it all the time where if you put it in a menu it might not get hit so often unless there is a real need for it.

just my 2 cents  :)

Yes we are discussing it.  I think those checkboxes can possibly be deleted now.

Deleting the boxes would be a huge deal for some folks.

The model groups pop up box just needs to have short verbiage there like "Show only these models in my display"

No it wouldn't be a huge deal because we would provide a different way to remove groups you don't want to see like my suggestion is to have the same "Is My Display" checkbox for groups as we do for models.
