Getting cross effect on Older Sequece in 2016.20
« on: April 28, 2016, 09:47:28 AM »
When I run an older sequence in 2016.20 I am getting an effect that is on my west dalek trees also showing on my first arches.
Arches are unicast on 10.0.1.70 and comprise channels 3076 Thru 3675
My west dalek trees are unicast 10.0.1071 and comprise channels 14206 thru 15255
When I run the sequence my layout view has the same effect the trees have showing on the arches and I can't figure out why?
Thanks
Kent

Did you delete the associate .fseq and recreate (render or save)?  In the past I know there were problems with remnant effects.

If that fixed it then you must have changed your Render Mode under settings to Canvas Mode.  Unless you know what that does it shouldn't be set that way...change it back to Erase Mode.

Gil my effects settings is greyed out so I am not sure how it is set. I have render on save is on.
What file if looked at with Notepad++ would you look in for this.

Sounds like you didn't find the setting.  It's under the Settings menu at the top and the option is called Render Mode.  Open up a sequence if things are greyed out.  The setting is saved in the registry so there is no file you can edit and show me.

Once a sequence is opened then as you said it is not greyed out and it was set to erase mode. What if render on save is not checked, does it just save the xml file?

Yes it only saves the xml if you are using the quick save.  So initially the buffers would be filled with the data from the fseq file.  All you would need to do is a Render All or a full save and it would have fixed it if you were in Erase Mode.

Actually I just brought it in to look at the effects and the last time it was saved was last year by a previous version and that is when the cross effect took place as the yard layout was brought up to date by another program that I was using for Las Vegas class. I was puzzled as to why it was doing this and that is what prompted the post. When I just deleted the fesq file the problem was solved. It still has not been resaved.
Thanks for your input Gil it is much appreciated

Yes but if you haven't rendered or saved then all you are seeing is how the effects are rendered as you click on them.  They will render in the order that you click on them which may not match the actual render order you will get when you do a render all or save.  This is easy to see if you have any groups.  Just click on an effect in the row for a group and the entire group will show that effect.  Then click on an effect for a model that resides inside that group and you will see the entire group with the original effect except for the model you just clicked on will have the new effect.
