Using sequences back to back
« on: May 11, 2016, 02:50:00 PM »
This is a noob question, sorry if it was asked before.

I have a half dozen 1 minute sequences that are not tied to music, just for show.  I'd like to play them back to back and then repeat for say a 30 minute show.  Is there a way to store a sequence once and then import it on the sequence time line next to one that's already there?

Or do I need to recreate each sequence individually on the sequencer?  That method seems like a lot of unnecessary work.

How are you planning to play these sequences?

From within xLights, outputting E1.31 to your devices?  If so, then just create a schedule that plays them back to back for the allotted time.

From a Falcon Pi Player? If so, copy the 6 fseq files to the FPP, create a playlist of Sequences Only, and schedule them.

Unless you are concerned about the slight pause that you'll get as it switches.

I haven't (and don't plan to) tried merging two or more XML files to see it that works. If you are very good with Notepad++, you could try that on some backup copies of your 6 XML files.

Jon,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I kinda thought I'd be using the scheduler.  I'm planning on using FPP but I wanted to see my display proto-typed in the xLights sequencer on my PC before I had the lights on my house in November.
