No Timing Tracks
« on: May 21, 2016, 06:25:11 PM »
I just installed the latest version of Xlights. But when i bring up a sequence or create a new one there isn't any timing marks. The window is completely black. When I drag my mouse along the model, it changes as i pass ovr the timing mark. You just can't see them or the effects. Am i doing something wrong or did I miss something?

Is this your first time using xlights?

If you are opening sequences that used to work, then it's probably OpenGL issues. There are plenty of recent threads on this.

There are never any timing marks on a new sequence until you create them.

No I've been using xlight for a couple of years. I created a new sequence and in the Sequence Settings I selected New Timing Interval of 50MS. Or I can open one of my sequences that I've used in the past, but all I get it a blank window.

Then it's probably OpenGL issues. Try setting to 2.x, or 1.x. Also make sure your video driver is up to date. What version of xlights were you on?

Try adding them to the view to see if that resolves it.
I am not sure but I thought I noticed that I had to do this recently..

If it wasn't in the view the entire row would be gone.  I don't think that's what is being described but hard to say since we weren't given a picture to look at.

I think Phrog30 came up with the answer to the problem. I think my video is the problem. When I load up 2016_22 everything is OK. But when i install 2016_32 is when the problem starts. Plus I have a box that pops up and tells me my computer sucks.

I get that message too, and part of it is in Chinese.  Who knew the devs were conversant in that language.  LOL
