Alphpix16 and 340 lights per channel Help!!
« on: June 12, 2016, 02:27:40 PM »
Hello ,

I have an alphapix 16 v2 and I am trying to light up 340 lights.. I have changed the controller settings to 340 pixel connected and I have 340 12mm bullets with power on both ends and I wont light up past 170 lights.

i am trying to configure channel 12 with 340. I believe on the DMX Universe it will be Universe 12 and 13.  Please help so I dont have to purchase new controller.

My power injection is coming from the same powersupply for my alpha pix.. I am using the  + AND - Thats it..

thanks for assistance.

How are you testing, xlights or the controller?  I would start with a test from the controller.  If this doesn't work, there is no need to try xlights.

I don't know anything about the alphapix but I'm sure it can do what you want.

Thank you for you response .. I tried at the controller and it didnt work ..

Another question. Do i need to do a data injection also.. Because the lights are not dimming they are not just lighting up.

Can you try on another output?  Other than that, someone with alphapix experience will have to chime in.

I have a couple thoughts:

What does the output configuration look like for the controller on output 13?

Is the point where the pixels are not working at a connection point (power injection/ data / ground connection?)

(ignore my attachment - didn't see you posted your config in initial post)

If you have the config set up right, and are in test mode on Alphapix, and you are getting nothing I'm just guessing wiring issue especially since you tried another controller

For power injection coming in at the end - you will NOT push data back from the end to beginning.

At the point where the next pixel isn't working - if it is a connection point where you joined 2 strings  together maybe, make sure the pixel is set up for data to flow the right direction.  Pixels are set up for data to flow in only 1 direction.

If you have electrical meter - you take off your power injection off the end and see if you are getting any DC voltage at there (will be lower than 12V obviously).

Thank you .. I went to the point were it stop and notice the Dataline was loose >:(

Thank you for all of your assistance.. I have looked at this for about 3 hours.. and everything started to look the same.

Now its working.. This will save me me on cost of controllers.
