Are the views part of the perspective saves yet?
« on: June 28, 2016, 10:21:30 PM »
All my hunting through the manual and the wiki have led me to asking here.

I have 3 views for my site.  Simple views.  On my workstation I place them on the second monitor.  I then use the first monitor for the sequencer.

When starting xLights, I can manually go into "View -> Preview" then select the views.  "Show all" brings them back.  Since I will be using this setup quite a bit, I have saved a perspective under the name of "threeviews".  When I load the perspective, unfortunately nothing shows up in the way of the previews.

Are the new "previews" saved as part of the perspectives?

No those windows are not part of the perspectives.  They would have had to be part of the AuiManager that controls all the other windows and I didn't want to do that because then they would end up dockable.  To be honest I've spent so many days on those multiple previews everyone just needs to be happy they exist for awhile before I hear any requests for changes.

Thank you.  Knowledge of the ins and outs of the program is most appreciated.

With all the things that have been added to the program over the years, I can truly say that this one thing (the multiple previews) is top of the list of making life so much easier in my blinky world!
