color transitions within the same effect
« on: August 24, 2014, 04:30:05 PM »
Is there a easy way to transition an effect from one color to another?  Say I have an effect (Spiral) in green and would like it to change (smoothly transition) to red within the time sequence. Kinda like moving the slider from effect 1 to effect 2, where each is the same effect but in different colors. Ive been playing with this for a bit, and haven't figured an easy way to do it.  It's probably straight forward.

i know f no easy way to do this.  What we need is a starting palette and ending palette for each effect and the ability to slide the color as an effects is created.

ill think if there is an easy way to get it added

Would there be the ability to determine the amount of time for the transition to occur? Kind of like adding a fade in/out at the end except it just fades from one color to another?

That is exactly how I do mine, fade out one color and fade in the next, you have to have two different timing marks to do this.

You can make it happen quite easily.

Mix a spiral with color wash. Use the Spiral for the Mask with no color selected.

On the color wash, you may need to use all 6 colors for the timing. If your wanted the effect to kick on on second 5 of a 6 second effect, the first 5 colors would be red and the last would be green.  Adjust the number of reds to get the timing right.

Thanks for the help...I figured it out for the color wash a bit ago, but I'm not that prolific with the masks and such...so I never thought to apply it to the spirals etc.....I'll have to play with some more!

Thanks for the tip
