superstar sequence 12cc Tree w/ 6 stars
« on: July 09, 2016, 08:46:31 AM »

I purchased a Sequence from SuperStarLights.com and when i import I am experiencing a couple of issue.

My layout is a 12 strings and 170 nodes per strand.
Star layout is  270 nodes total.  20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 nodes per ring.

1. When i import the sequence doesn't line up properly.
2. how do you import the Star?

I don't think you can do the star. Is the tree portion lining up?

The SuperStar import has been working like this.  When I receive free sequences I try to figure out how to make them work. :)

GilRock I purchased this one..  ;) .  The tree isn't lining up. The tree is only 12x50 and mine is 12x170.

But i will take GilRock advice and continue to grow with xlights and learn...

Try this, create a model that is 12x50 and see if it works.

Meh it wouldn't be the first purchased sequence I've been sent...lol.  It's in the best interest of the folks that sell these sequences for me to make the import to xLights work.  If he only wants to sell to LOR customers fine with me.  I'll just teach people how to make the same thing in xLights.

We scale the effects so what's not lining up?  If it's images there are a lot of scaling options on the import dialog.  But I can tell you that going from 50 to 170 will probably look terrible.  You need to make a shorter tree.

The first thing you should do is create a 12x50 model and get the import working on that.  Then you will at least know the process is working and can better evaluate the quality of the import.

GilRock.. I am sorry.. I thought you were teasing me bc i ask a question about a free one in another post that is my fault....
Send me an email at Duran.waters@gmail.com and I will send you the file.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding..

I am trying to make a 14 to 16 ft tree with 1 inch spacing on the nodes

Thank you again for the awesome software and tech support.

1" spacing is going to be extremely bright and cost a lot in nodes.  I would think about going to 2" spacing, but it is your tree and your budget.  I use 3" spacing on my 18ft tree with 18 strands of 61 nodes and it really lights up the neighbors house across the street.

This is post with a picture of my tree. 2" spacing 80 pixels each direction
1" May be really way too much
Just my 2 cents worth

The issue is that contained in a single SUP file there are 2 models and the import goes only to a single model.

This holds true for the sequences with a star at the top of a tree and a globe at the top of a tree.

Not sure if the xLights import will import a multi-model SUP to a single model in xLights.

Thank you.  I also noticed the images are upside down.  I have to flip them and then they work.
