Changing node layout
« on: July 19, 2016, 09:20:11 AM »
ok so i bought a 5 point star from boscoyo that has 6 layers I put all the pixels in starting at one of the bottom points and now when i create in xlights it only gives me the option to start in the middle so either i take out my nodes and change the start my fingers wont like this option. or i change the node layout not sure if i can do that without making a custom model? if anyone has any solutions please let me know thanks.

Yeah you really need to plan the model before you build the prop.  Otherwise yes you will need to create a custom model which won't look quite as nice.  I'm personally starting to dislike our custom models because you have to create a really dense grid for the pixels to not look jagged when trying to create a line or circular shape.

Ok that what i thought i was going to have to do thanks again. Maybe that will be something that could be changed? let us modify a node layout from a normal prop?

Rotate it so that the point you started with is at the top.  The xLights model can handle that fine.   :-)
