E682
« on: August 28, 2014, 02:01:56 PM »
I am not able to get my pixels to light when I click on output to lights. I can get the E682 to communicate with my computer but no lights to come on. I am really having a hard time getting any answers in which direction to go. I have the WS2811 5 volt pixels and yes I have them connected right from everything I have been told. I am sure it is just a simple thing that I am missing but it is big when it does not work. I can attach pictures if needed of my xlight set up and my 682 if that would help.
Any help is appreciated.
Terry

The setup of start and ending channels on the E682 page should match what is configured on the nutcracker setup page.

Can you change the E682 test pattern number from 0 to 3 to see if all the lights come on?
I would first do that to ensure the 682 is configured right before looking at NC.

The first issue I see is the OUTPUT TO LIGHTS box isn't checked.

Second, you have skipped DMX addresses between 3.180 and 4-181 on the E682 setup.
Your Nutcracker setup is configured up to address 510 on universe 3, and starts on address 1 of universe 4. You need to correct that.  Those 2 areas need to match exactly.

I too use 100 light strings in 50 light increments. I configure the Nutcracker model 100 nodes per string with 2 strands per string.  I leave the E682 fold unchecked.

Start with those fixes and post back the results.

Flyinverted,
I have attached another snip of the E682 and highlighted areas. How exactly should this look on my configuration of the E683? This is the area that is totally confusing me. Not sure what you are saying on the nutcracker setup.

I did the test and the pixels worked fine. . Playing a sequence is getting nothing. I clicked all the boxes when I set nutcracker to test and was able to gt the pixels to do the chases etc.

On your E682 setup you need to change line 2.
The starting address should be 3/181 instead of 4/181
Once you change line 2, you'll need to change lines 3 and 4.

Just set the starting addresses to one channel number higher than the ending channel of the line above.
Ending addresses are calculated by the E682.

Please post the Nutcracker setup page. This needs to be configured properly as well.

I see your Megatree starts on CH25. Do you have 8 RGB channels using CH1-24?

Here is the right one. My xlights /nutcracker is posted above. Is that what you need?
Also here is a snip of my mega tree channels. I start at 265 510 channel to a universe. Lot of unused channels.. I have 30 strings zig zaged. So there are 30 50 pixel strings on my mega. 50 up then 50 down ect.
Thanks

You're getting closer.

I see you changed line 2 that is good. You need to change lines 3 and 4 on the E386 setup.

Set line 3 to start at 5-361
Set line 4 to start at 10-31

Once those are changed, the output to your "Mega Tree" model should look correct.
