Pixels stay glowing red
« on: July 31, 2016, 01:52:44 PM »
Hi all,

currently working on my first show ever a slowly getting all kinds of stuff in lding a megatree, arches , some small trees and outlines for the house. I've been reading a lot on this forum and others to get to understand as much as possible end finding answers to my questions.
Up till now I've found most answers, but am stuck now.  I'm pretty sure I've seen this somewhere before, but cannot find it again.

Here's the problem: When I connect my pixels strings to the controller ( Falcon 16v2) they keep glowing a bit in red. I don't have that problem with the led strips.
When running the testmode they all work prerfectly.

Ay suggestions as where the cause can be found?

normally its too much voltage. check and see what your putting out. keep it on the low side of 11 volts.

Agree, lower your voltage. I have my power supplies set to 11.9v and it works fine. 12v or higher I get a red glow.

I'll check it later, but I think it's around 12,1 if I reall correctly.

FransG  let me say welcome to Xlights/Nutcracker. We are all here to help and learn from each other.   As for you lights turn the voltage down a touch and you'll be in bussness.

From another post , it said 11.8v for the troublesome pixels.

They worked fine at that level - but I also found that they work okay on other controllers without having to turn the voltage down.

Thanks guys, lowered the voltage to 11,9 V - problem solved.

@babybear, thanks for the welcome. I've been lurking around for a while now and it's amazing to see the help anyone gets, no matter if he (or she) is a newbie or not.
