Save Models, Perspectives, and Preset changes?
« on: July 31, 2016, 08:48:11 PM »
I am sure this is something I am doing wrong...   After saving an xlights file then attempting to close xlights, xlights is asking me "save models, perspectives, and preset changes?".   I have been clicking "no" because I am not making any changes to any elements, perspectives, or saving any presets; I am just doing developing a sequence.    One time I went ahead & answered "yes", then when I re-opened my rgbeffects file was messed up---so I went to  a backup rgbeffects file and saved it in my xL directory and all was well.    What am I doing wrong here?   I don't remember this popping up every time I close xlights...   Thanks!!

Almost forgot--running v41.   W10 machine

It would help if you could send us the messed up file ... maybe by packaging the log files using the tools menu.

Now that you mention it, I have noticed xlights requesting that I save, when I never made changes either. I always hit no.

Yes you are touching something that gets written to the file.  We've added so many new things it might not be obvious.  Just changing something like what view you are looking at will trigger it because we save it so we can show you what you looked at last.

I think it is probably what Gil said--I am always moving stuff around on my sequencer screen because I use a laptop so have limited real estate on-screen.    I'll just keep saying no.

THANKS for the replies!!
