"Part of my Display"

I am drawing a blank. I know I have seen this discussed but I can't find it.
"Part of my display" is gone. So how do I create a model group that I can put an effect on and have it show up on a different model with the same numbers and not be part of my display.

Hope I stated that correct

All models have a Preview property now.   Set it to Unassigned.
