What Im looking for is one state with 2 set of nodes different colors. Tonight I'll do some testing on my best way setting him up. Yep just as hard to build as to sequence.


So I did similar with two sets of nodes - yes, I did red for both sets but it could have been red and blue or red and yellow or whatever.  Apologize if I'm still not aligning with what you are asking.

Your model is just what I'm doing, that you had to do is create a second state to get black (off) when not need to be lit. What I was trying to do was keep your clunkers off while in a sub model and then use the state to light them when called for.  many ways to do the same thing.
