Do I need to upgrade my computer

I have read posts on rendering times but I didnt want to hi jack the threads.

I have rendering times pushing 300 sec and have a feeling it is my computer.
The specs are:
AMD A6-5400k apu with Radeon HD graphics 3.60GHz
8 GB Ram,465GB Hard Drive with a 111GB Drive that I use for Downloading
Windows 10 pro.64 bit

I am pushing 75k channels.

A couple of things. If you are doing lots of blur that can slow things down. Dan has a fix for that coming next release. There are also some effects that can be slow on large models like Galaxy. If you look in your log file you will get warnings when these are running slow. Reducing your model group matrix size can help with speed there but will lower quality a bit.

Upgrading your computer wouldn't be a bad thing especially if you're using it to run your show. And before some fan boy jumps in and tells you that Intel is the only processor you can possibly use I'm running AMD on quite a few computers and they work quite well. Not to go into details but a lot of the new AMD processors give you a really good bang for the buck. Don't skimp on memory

Naa I go both ways     I just heard too many people trying to talk someone into an Intel processor that's going to be only used for sending emails and playing solitaire. They both have their place in the world.

If you want, post your files and I can run on my machine and tell you what render times I get. It will give you a comparison.

Just an update.
I took my computer from work and now have made it my Sequencing Computer.

It is a AMD FX-4300 Quad Core 3.8GHz with a 1TB hard drive.

It is a huge difference rendering from close to 300 secs down to 25 secs.

All I do at work with it is emails and read plans,my old computer will do just fine with that.

It is head scratching trying to choose a computer nowadays. Who would have thought that an extra 0.2 GHz and doubling the cores would cut your time by more than 90%! How much RAM does your new computer have, and does it have a solid state HDD?

No Iam an HVAC contractor and we used to sell Trane equipment. I own both computers lol

It has 8gb ram and yes a Solid State HD
