copy and paste whole row
« on: September 25, 2016, 10:41:22 AM »
I don't know what I'm doing wrong....I can copy a row but can't paste it...and yes, I'm going to the individual row(nodes) and it's still not working. It won't even give me the option to paste.

I just tried and it works for me. Are you seeing this problem in all sequences (I would try more than one)?

I'm new to Xlights and only have this one sequence transfered over from lor. But I'm running the latest version 2016_49 if that means anything...I did see that someone else was having this problem too and they went back to 40 and it fixed it...maybe I'm just not that familiar with this program yet. I also went from 32 ac channels to 80.
I have the models right and the channel mapping is right too (I think) I'm tying to copy existing lor data from one spiral tree to another...The programing for tree 1 was done with lor, if that's any consolation and it's showing up in the sequencer....if it's there than it should be able to copy it right?

You can create a new sequence. Only takes a few seconds. Add one effect, then try to copy the row with that effect. I would try that to rule out something funky going on in your sequence.

weird...it works in a new sequence.. something must be up with that one..I'm gonna try another imported one now.
I needed to update the channel config to all my sequences in lor and that's being a PITA so i'm jumping from sequence to sequence re-mapping the 32 channels to a more friendly new 80 channel one then re programing everything in x lights.  Well worth the effort. Thank you for the help.  :D

You may want to post the sequence xml file as well as your rgb_effects xml.  One of the developers may want to look at it.  I know I have corrupted a sequence xml a time or two.  When that happens, weird things can occur.  I usually troubleshoot by creating a new sequence and seeing what happens.

These aren't RGB effects. They are single strand AC lights. I just tried another imported sequence and no go. maybe it has something to do with the shimmer effect from lor that x lights can't regenerate, I don't know. I came over to X lights because this year i've added rgb's to the show, along with more AC channels, and frankly i've had it with lor and having to program in SE for AC channels then importing the RGB programming from PE into SE ???..... and that visualizer program  :o......you get the picture....I find x lights much more user friendly. Where do I send in the files and to who? I would be glad to help out.

It doesn't matter if you have rgb effects, the file name is still rgb_effects.xml. It sounds like you imported as a data layer so there isn't any data to copy, then paste.

Put your sequence.xml and the rgbeffects xml into a zip file and attach on this forum. Then we can look at what you have.

One thing to try, try edit an effect on one of the rows you are trying to copy. If you can't edit, then it's not an effect, but only data. You won't be able to copy this. You can right click and promote to effects, then copy.

Let me know what you find.

Ok, here are two sequences imported from LOR .. neither of these work.  Arbor 1 has data on it... was trying to copy / paste to Arbor 2 ( 3 and 4 too  :D)
