Multiple Lines on a Matrix
« on: September 29, 2016, 03:20:46 PM »
OK before version 50 I had text on a matrix that used 4 lines now it only shows the first line yet looking at the layers each line has been put on a separate layer but the bottom 3 do not show up on the Matrix. How do I fix this?

Check the X/Y coordinates to see if the text if off the matrix someplace.  Also check the color.

I recompiled this song and the Y coordinates are where they should be. However I loaded a different sequence that had been saved from an earlier version and it works fine but this one does not. I can attach the files.

In looking at this it appears the problem seems to be with other effects in the layers, for example at the 2 min mark Galaxy is under the letters and it is erasing the letters where as before it did not. Other areas the text does not even show. HELP!!!!

I want to be able to have this sequence in my show working the way it did before (here is the youtube)

This is a very complicated issue.....  one not counted for in the import of the old setup.

You had the text effect set to 1 is unmask to reveal the butterfly underneath.  Looks cool.  However, when we split it, the other text effects were put under the butterfly and the "1 is unmask" wasn't updated to Normal.  Thus, nothing really works correctly.

You can fix it by setting the blending to Normal for all the text effects.  That should allow the 4 lines of text to blend together.  To get the cool color thing, move the butterfly to the TOP layer and set it's blending to "2 is unmask".   Thus, layers 2-5 (text effects) will render and blend together into 4 lines of white text.   Then the butterfly will apply the color.

Dan something else is going on, your suggestion did not work. I even tried to remove the butterfly and just have the 4 text layers set to normal and it still only shows the 1st line and nothing else.

Did you set that top line to "Normal" instead of "1 reveals 2"?

I inserted a layer above and put the butterfly there with effect 2 reveals 1 and the remainder as normal. No difference the top line does have the rainbow colors but is the only line showing.

I think I figured it out, put the text together and set as normal below the effect then use 2 is unmask but at the 2 min mark use 2 revels 1 so the effect stays behind and not wipe out the words. I had to take out the shockwave as it messed up the lettering and used butterfly with regular colors not rainbow.
