sub-model issue ver 2016.50
« on: October 01, 2016, 07:23:11 AM »
I believe I have discovered a bug in ver 2016.50 with sub-models. In version 2016.49, I created 50 sub-models for my mega tree so I could access each row of lights. I named them row 1-50. They showed up in my model sequencer view in order, when I toggled the strands, However, now in ver 2016.50, they do not come up in order. Every time I restart Xlights they come up in a different order. I have attached a screen shot.

You will see that after row40, rows41 &42 are missing (actually found lower in the list) then other sub-models appear after row48 followed by rows 26 the 41 & 42, 46 and 49 & 50.

Can I fall back to version 2016.49?

I just fell back to 2016.49 and the order of my sub-model list for my megatree is still messed up. Is there some way I can fix this? Maybe by editing some file?

I've never tried, but I would think you could edit the xml with notepad ++ or similar app.

I've edited other items in the xml, so would think this would be no different.

Well I'd like to know how the order changed.  One thing I notice in your picture is the name "row 40" has a space character before the number whereas none of the other row names have a space.  But I didn't think we did any kind of name sorting for how the sub-models get displayed on the grid.

Gilrock, yes it has a space, but there isn't anyway to rename it after it's created so i left it that way. Maybe I could edit the xml again and fix it there?

I don't know how it changed. All I know is it did

Well maybe you'll figure it out after you have to renumber it a couple more times. :)
