Spirograph ?
« on: January 14, 2014, 06:22:43 PM »
What was the thought behind and intended use for the spirograph effect?  I love the other effects and the price is right! This one, I just don't understand. Granted I'm just adding effects to a megatree only for now.

I think I requested it and thought it might be cool.   Tbh,  I haven't used it much, but it's pretty cool in what it can do .... Quite a few combinations can end up looking like a wreath.

It's a bit tricky to get right but I have used it to generate some cool effects on a megatree - for example, smoke over fire. Unfortunately, I could not use it in my show this year as did not output correctly in recent versions of Nutcracker.

someone requested it, we did it.

i have used it to make better looking fireworks.

Start with big Radius R all the way to the right
liitle radius, r, all the way to the left
distance d, doesnt matter
should distance be animated? yes
now move the R,r sliders around. remember that r needs to always be <= R

thanks

Thanks!

I hadn't moved the sliders enough to see the full effect (pun intended).
Now I can see this having a place on my tree!
