Holiday Coro Rudolph
« on: October 27, 2016, 01:43:16 PM »
I have done a search but can't find it so either I'm not doing the search correctly or there is not one.

I was wondering if anyone has done a model to be imported into xLights like for the HC Pumpkin and Monsters.  Obviously I can do it but would make life easier to import one already done.

Thanks in advance.

Dean

To be clear you are asking for a model for Rudolf right?  If not for the title the contents make it sound like you are looking for HC Pumpkin and Monsters.  I heard he insisted we not provide users models for his stuff.  So I said fine we'll post the Boscoyo stuff and that's what the majority will buy.

Correct.  I was mentioning the HC Pumpkins / Monsters as a reference.  Those I have already.  I was hoping to save time by importing.  And I am sure mine won't look as good. :)

Not sure he has any right to tell us not to share xlights models for his products. It's not like it lets people duplicate his ip. It just lets people use his product more efficiently. A very strange position to take.

Sean's the one that told me about it.  You know how we like to provide some resource files with our installation?  Sean asked him if we could include custom models for his coro products and he said no.  Now that was probably well over a year or more ago and we weren't that popular when he said it.

Well he now has watermarks on his images.  So something is up.  I just made a very crude version for now.  Looks like crap but works.

Poor way to do business though.

The majority of what HolidayCoro sells has been copied from someone else. I don't think David has an original bone in his body.

I made the decision to never buy from him again, and if this is true about him not wanting xlights to post models for "his" stuff then it's just more proof what a weasel he is.

Last time I checked he said for the developers  not to post Hc stuff, as a consumer he cant tell us we cannot share what we have programmed. If you bought a sequence from him then I could undestand that, but his are lame and if I spend the time to sequence A talking face that I bought from him  or anyone else for that matter they cannot tell use we cant share our hard work. Ihave a rudolph I bought from him 2 or 3 years ago and could not find a place to put it in my display. Guess I found a place for it.  The burn pit!!!!!

Try taking a picture and overlay it in excel on a grid. then export it into xlights. this is how I have done my custom models, you can change the grid layout to fit the nodes.  My Bruno the brown nose raindeer with 149 nodes could have been a nightmare going free hand.
