Adding Singing Faces to an imported sequence
« on: October 30, 2016, 09:38:49 AM »
I purchased Monster Mash from the store and successfully imported it to my layout. I want to add the Boscoyo faces to the routine, however the face does not want to respond to programming, it only wants to show effects that are part of whole house. I have moved the model both above and below whole house but no difference and recompiled but all it shows is effects not mouth movements.
What could be causing this to happen?

OK I went back in and tried just putting an effect by changing the faces to say bars. This worked. However the area I am trying to get to work is an area where the solo is "From my laboratory in the castle east" and the chorus in the background is doing "Bah Ooh etc." I put the solo in and it works, but the chorus is the problem. The Mouth movements for the chorus is (MBP-AI-U) but these movements are what is not working. Just to clarify the main solo is it's own timing track and model and the chorus it's own timing track and model

If your faces are not part of the whole house group and in my opinion they should not be in there, moving them around will not have any effect on rendering.  Do you have all the faces setup in your model?

Jim all of the faces are not part of the whole house model but are part of the display, that is what is frustrating as to why the two I want to sing the chorus won't, in fact in another section I put in a Chorus phrase "He did the Mash" works.

OK I was hopping that someone could help with this however this morning I figured out what was going on. Whole House had some effects the used circles and Roto Zoom settings. I changed Faces to Garland and found the garlands rotating, so I looked at what the settings were, the rotations was not on zero.

I put faces back, changed the rotations to zero and zoom to 1 and zoom quality to 1, Pivot Points stayed at 50 each. This solved the problem of the faces not working in some parts. Not that it made any difference for Last Night as I have not purchased the faces from Boscoyo yet but wanted this to work correctly for next year.

Now I can relax and work on what else needs to be done. Frustrating problem as some worked and some didn't.

I will add some checks to check sequence to flag rotozoom settings in this situation as a potential problem.

Keith not only was the Roto Zoom picked up by the faces but the color pallet of the circles as well

OK I waited until I got what I wanted done for Christmas and finished doing the Faces so here is the YouTube

I am glad I found the problem and got the sequence working for next year, I will probably tweak the roof lights a little bit, but otherwise I am happy with the result
