Problem with models this yr vs last year
« on: November 01, 2016, 07:04:04 PM »
Doubled up pixels for my roof grid, lights and controllers working fine, but problem with output to lights. I've installed the latest version of XLights and deleted the old models and added new ones, opened a sequence from last year with no problem, but when I output to lights I get multi color effects.  I used the test function and noticed that the channels are all over each other. It looks like 15 and 16 models are competing for the same channels.

How do I erase obsolete models?

I never open last years sequence in this years config.  I treat last year just like a shared sequence from someone else and do an import.  Once you create a map file you can quickly import all your sequences from last year.

long time no hear from btw, glad to see you still lighting things up.

Hey Jim

Good advice on the import feature...I'd not thought to do that.  In fact I don't think I know how to do that...I'll check the WIKI.

The problem has been solved and I have to admit it was all user error.  ;)

When I was adding the additional pixels/channels I failed to notice that my windows elements went all bonkers and cloned themselves up to 90+ universes. Once I went back to my setup and paid attention to the details. I ended up deleting a bunch of extra universes addressing the same channels. Kinda one of those infinate loop errors in basic.

Once I fixed my original error, I opened up last year sequenses with no issues.
