Some models missing on Layout Tab, but available in sequence
« on: November 04, 2016, 08:58:57 AM »
I have some strange behavior with my models.

Background:
I'm using my models from last year, and I've upgraded xLights along the way all summer.

Most of my models from last year show up, but some do not.  In particular, it seems the ones that do not have the same start channel as ones that do (I have duplicate models for some of my elements so that I can have different pixel presentations--ie cora-flakes in actual positional layout vs a matrix layout)

These models show up in "edit display elements" on the sequencer tab.

Couple of other strange points:
* Some of my model groups do not show up on the Layout tab.
* When I edit model groups (or create a new one), I see the "missing" models listed and can add them to the group.   If I add them to a group, then they show up on the complete list on the layout tab.  If I remove them from that group, they drop off the complete list again.

So I can fix this by adding them to my "whole house" group, or some other group, but I'm wondering why they're not showing up on the complete list?  Mostly I'm concerned that there's something buggy in my rgb_effects file that might bite me later.

Attached is my rgb_effects file.

Check the unassigned preview.

You must have had models that were marked a not part of my display so when you upgraded xLights we moved them to the "Unassigned" preview which is the equivalent.  You can always change the Layout preview using the drop-down combo-box at the top.  There are options for "Default", "All Models", "Unassigned". All models will show you everything you've created.  "Unassigned" will show the models you have that aren't assigned to any preview.

Yep, that's it!

I did have "not part of my display" to get them out of the way on some..

Changing the preview setting (I didn't realize that would have an impact on the list) brings them back.

Thanks!
