I've imported my sequences from my 16 channel display last year into xlights and I am loving it.
I'm 60% done with one of my sequences (show starts in 2 days) and I've noted odd activity on channels 1-16.

I'm thinking when I imported the LOR effects, they went to channels 1-16 immediately. Then I went and remapped the channels to a different universe for my LOR models. My smart lights were setup already starting at channel 1 before I figured out how to DMX to my LOR board and assigned channels.

So, it seems like somehow the effects stayed on those channels. I can open up the model that starts at channel 1 and see on the nodes the effects, which in turn show up on my display BUT I cannot delete them. It is as if they are setup on a different model on channel 1, but I have no other model on channel 1.

How do I delete something like this? Help please

You probably imported it as a Data Layer.  Only way to get rid of that data is go to the Settings menu, Data Layer tab and select the layer and delete it.

The Nutcracker layer is there by default...I don't think you can delete it or maybe it just crashes if you try..lol.

Actually, I deleted the layers manually from the .xml file  :-[. I moved them into a notepad before I tested to see if it crashed or if it worked. Since it worked I didn't save them.

Although the sequence didn't crash, and the original issue is gone, now new effects aren't working in some groups. Although it shows the models in the group, the effect won't spread across all the models.

The Nutcracker data layer is back, but maybe it's missing the correct data?
Bummer  :'(

Nevermind... I had the layer settings mixed up from one effect and it carried over to the next. Rookie mistake. All is good here.

Thanks again.

The Nutcracker layer is there to represent the layer that holds all the effects you drop on the grid.  The purpose is if you had several layers you could actually position the xLights effects in a different spot in the render order.  The default is the xLights effects always render last.
