sequence without a song

Hi
I would like my lights to be always on before the musical light show begins. Can I make a "sequence", so to speak, of just the lights on and maybe doing some random effects without music? If so, then I could add a schedule with the "always on" effects then have the scheduler switch over to the musical portion..
How can I do this?

Create a new sequence and choose Animation--no music file needed.  This animation can be put in the scheduler.
