colour is off
« on: December 04, 2016, 07:00:09 PM »
Hi all, have a  p10 that is not displaying colours correctly
have changed From RGB toRBG.
have searched forum -some info - some out of date.
How do i find the dimming curves so i can change the colour for my p10 panels,
Selecting dimming curves in the model layout only allows you to change the brightness over all. can i change the composition of the panels i.e. i need a more blue tinge not the green tinges its currently  displaying
Cheers and thanks in advance

You should switch color order in the FPP settings for LED Panels.  You're right xLights dimming curves are only for "dimming" each color.  Sounds like you need to do a simple test like drop a red On effect and see if the panels are red, then change to green, and then blue and set the color order till its right.

So you can change the color order of the model in xLights also.

What electronic device is connected to the P10 panels?  If it is a Beagle Bone Black or Raspberry Pi, then it is running FPP and that is where Gil is telling you to adjust the color order in the LED panels setup

have  run a test and the following came out

                   p10      Mtrix roof (20X75 ink 3001)        Mtree 1       Mtree 2 (BOTH 2811)
 Red               Y                  Y                                      BLUE        BLUE
 Green           Y             Blue                                       Green       Green
Blue               Y            Green                                     Red           Red

SO not sure what is going on all now
Xl4 shows video as fine , actual P10 is greenish
Obviously i have something messed up

It's normal to have different color ordering for different items in the display.  Looks like the P10 is RGB, the matrix is RBG, and the mega trees are BGR.

I spent a couple of hours fixing my colors.  With 5 controllers I created 3 sequences - allred, allgreen, allblue.  Then I ran the sequences and noted the color orders.  Then went to each controller, made changes, reran the sequences until the lights for that controller were correct, went to the next controller and did the same thing.  Changing an F16v2 is great because you can change the color order even while a sequence is running.  But with other controllers, I had to disconnect from the network, direct cable to them, change the color order, then cable back to run mode and rerun the sequences.  I work with one controller at a time until it is right or inevitably I start getting controllers confused in my eagerness to get things done.  Even after doing this for 8 years I still end up with new lights or a controller and have to do this every year.  I keep everything in xlights as RGB and modify controllers just for consistency.  Just my preference you can do it however you like.
